With a risk to repeat the same question I had a couple of months ago, I would like to ask you guys for an opinion again.

Here I am wearing the Rubato Nonpareil crew after a couple washes and some wear in size XS. Do you think that I should size up for the heavy crew?

It looks great to me.

How familiar are folks with Casatlantic? Another Swedish brand by the fella that runs Broadway & Sons. I have been a big fan of them in recent years, and it's impossible to get their knitwear before it sells out. Things are a bit less classic, but more vintage-inspired, than Rubato or Berg & Berg.

This looks great. However, if you are going to wear a shirt or turtleneck under it, it might be a good idea to size up.

V-neck knit arrived. Any feedback on fit? This is in size S. It is comfortable and the shoulder seams are spot on. Just unsure if the body should be this “comfortable.”

I have a couple of their polos and I really like them. A bit longer than I prefer, but still very nice.

I have three shirts from them. Quality is subpar but got them on sales and style is exactly what I wanted.

But I’m not paying the same price range as Rubato for knitwear made by underpaid North African workers in Morocco or Tunis.
Don’t own any of their knitwear although the style is good so I can’t talk of the quality but I doubt it’d be on par with Scottish knitwear makers.

Any comments on the wool/yak scarves, especially the big ones? Would you say the material is more comparable to a wool/silk scarf or a cashmere one?

What colour knit do people style with Rubato brown chinos? Thinking the famous ‘business casual’.. Fawn makes sense. Any other that you may have examples of?

Camel, Derby Grey, Verdant (a Rubato colour), Pink (if you feel and want to go bold).

I very much enjoy wearing mine big square scarf in navy dot - have added some pictures of it in the gallery earlier as well.

More comparable to wool, it's 90% wool after all. Don't know if yak brings anything, maybe a touch of roughness/inconsistency to the fabric and a bit of warmth. Can be thin if not rolled up and thick enough to keep warm if rolled into layers. It's soft and pleasant to the touch. Not as soft as cashmere, of course.

Thanks a lot, your pictures are actually what made me consider it in the first place! It seems like it drapes really nicely, which heavier cashmere scarves don't always do.

Yeah, the drape is nice, on cashmere scarves it can be less drape due to heavier fabric weight or due the the fabric being a bit more "springy" and not holding the folds as much. I'm hoping Rubato will include scarves in the sale this winter - then I'd get another one, most likely in charcoal.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
