Anyone have experience with the French pocket trousers? Specifically interested to learn more about the fabric. Is it a more spring/summer leaning fabric? Appreciate any thoughts

I’ve got both pairs, and they’re cotton. Think of them like mid to lightweight cotton chinos. The herringbone weave feels a bit softer and looser over time compared to regular cotton, which is kind of nice. For some reason, the navy ones feel heavier and rougher than the cream ones, even though I’m pretty sure it’s the same fabric. Maybe the bleaching process softens up the cream ones, so they end up feeling lighter.

As for when to wear them, it really depends on your climate. I wouldn’t go for them in the winter (I’m in Latvia, so pretty similar to Sweden weather-wise). The cream ones are perfect for summer, and I’d also wear them in late spring or early autumn. Basically, they’re solid three-season trousers, just not for winter.

Looking to buy my first knit, I’m 165cm with a 98cm chest and deciding between XS and S. XS I feel might fit true to my size while S a bit more loose. Should the knits be loose fitting or smart with not much bunching? Do these also tend to stretch after some wear and wash?

I’d be wearing them with and without a sport coat/jacket if that matters. Appreciate any feedback. My first real knit so I want to get the sizing right the first time if I can.

Go bigger. They're supposed to fit looser around the waist and not look fitted.

So, should I need L or M? L is the turtleneck and M the V-Neck. I would actually wear the turtleneck more often with tailoring so I feel like I could switch the sizes depending on the model.

What do you all think?

I would go for M if desired to wear with tailoring, but in casual settings with jeans or chinos I would go for L.

With a risk to repeat the same question I had a couple of months ago, I would like to ask you guys for an opinion again.

Here I am wearing the Rubato Nonpareil crew after a couple washes and some wear in size XS. Do you think that I should size up for the heavy crew?

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
