Does anyone remember what colors they offered for the cashmere version of their standard knits? And any news on whether they are coming back?
Cloud, drab and a kind of beige. They went on sale last year. I think because they didn’t sale well. I can imagine that there will be some in an archive sale.

I have a cashmere deep V in cloud in size L and am willing to sell if anyone is interested (shipping from Europe).

Yes I think that works well with both navy and black. It looks like a mid-dark khaki to me and I like to combine khaki with navy and black.

Other colors I'd go with are natural (my natural color v neck goes great with indigo and black jeans), abyss and maybe sand if you like more contrast (but too much contrast for me).
Would you mind posting a picture of the natural v-neck against indigo jeans? I wear jeans in all their shaded beauty quite a lot an wondered if a round neck will do for me in that natural color...

Serious question: how do the tall guys here possibly wear these sweaters? I tried one on and the short length, low armholes, and tight ribbing led to it constantly riding up and bunching awkwardly above my belt. I feel like I would have to be adjusting it constantly.
I truly do not understand

I'm 6'2'' and have no issue with mine, that said I'm wearing with highish rise pants and a shirt underneath that's tucked- either tee or button down. I wouldn't start doing jumping jacks in low rise...

I'm 6'1" and I have no issues either but I have a short torso and wear high rise pants. I would have more of these if they were more accommodating to my budget.

6'0" and also wear high-waisted pants. Only issue I have is with the standard sportsman sleeves being a touch short in my size, but this isn't an issue with their other knitwear which have turn-back cuffs.

I'm 6'2" and this pretty much does happen to me as well. I wear midrise pants typically. Size large in the standard knits and would love an extra 2 cm in length.

I think this photo is a good representation of what happens to me at least, except there's a lot more fabric bunching for me because the knits aren't as fitted through the waist on me as they are on this model

My understanding is that those sweaters should always be worn with high-rise trousers or jeans, as there are many options in more standard measures and similar quality elsewhere. One thing I have noticed though (even though I prefer to size down for a more fitted look and shorter sleeves) is that with these sweaters it is much easier to size up and still maintain a neat, tidy silhouette, if the extra length is necessary or preferred. The larger, tighter ribbing I think makes them uniquely capable of holding everything together whichever way you go size-wise.

In my case - particularly after a couple hand-washes - I look absurd if I try wearing these with anything other than high-rise trousers as my mid-section looks unproportionately huge. On the other hand, the shorter length, if compensated by a higher rise, leads to a nice, subtle lengthening of the legs which I find desirable (unless my assessment of what I see in the mirror is completely wrong, which I am not excluding as an option).

Perhaps, although oddly most of the trousers they sell are not particularly high rise. Their chinos are a very standard midrise, for example.
I also don't find that the standard knitwear is really smart enough to be the best match for the types of trousers I would typically weaer in a high rise, worsted trousers, for example. I would prefer a merino for that. I think the standard knitwear looks nicer with denim or chinos, personally.

I think it really depends on the person, I'd definitely consider them medium-high rise. In any case, I think my argument that their shape can accommodate different sizes - hence different position around the waist - still stands, although I would not consider them particularly flattering with regular/slim trousers.

I agree with you regarding the smart-ness of their standard knitwear and I think this is the reason that I like them, as I prefer the comfort that comes with wider, pleated trousers but rarely find myself in a sufficiently formal occasion to wear such trousers without needing to dress them down at least a bit, so that I do not stand out in a bad way.

I'm 6ft and have broad shoulders and a small waist and I find the length and overall fit of the Knits in L quite perfect. I could consider even 1cm less in length to even emphasize the look. I usually wear them with LVC Jeans. Most of them are 1947s and the rise of them works great with the length of the Rubato Sweaters. I think they're mid-rise after all. Would recommend, will buy more!

According to their customer service, no plans to bring back any cashmere knits at the moment.

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
