Given that the price on everything went up about 50%, what are some other brands that we should be looking at for knitwear? I really liked my Rubato brushed shetland, even though it's technically lambswool it isn't very scratchy and honestly feels more like merino. The J press shetlands, by comparison, seem much scratchier.

For regular lambswool, William Lockie makes Rubato's knits. They have more of a "standard" fit than the cropped look of Rubato, however. If you specifically like the short length, there are quite a few other options now, maybe someone else can chime in as that's not really my thing so I haven't looked into them too much.

For Shetlands, I don't know the maker Rubato uses but I am certain they use the same yarn as Harley. For example the "Pearl" color Rubato had this past FW is the same yarn as this from Harley's website:

For fine merino, tons of options but I am usually satisfied with John Smedley, which can be had at a good discount.

Might be Tailour? He’s got stuff from him recently.
Maybe. I've already looked at their Instagram and Tailour didn't have anything similar as far as I could see. They also tagged Oliver in the pieces they made for him. Maybe them, but looks different from their usual style.
I believe it's their own product that they plan to offer at some point in the future.
Yes, as many other sample products they have. Not sure if there are any plans, Oliver and Carl talked about possible tailoring years ago, but nothing definite. As usual, Rubato is very secretive and vague when it comes to any future releases. I think they made two of these blazers a while ago, saw a picture of Carl and Oliver wearing matching blazers/trousers on a picture on Instagram in a physical location they had. So I was wondering if someone might know where they sourced it from or if somebody does something similar already.

Shoulders and chest felt slimmer than the Roper shirt
Still not sure, but you are talking about the Work Shirt, don’t you? Does anybody else have this feeling?

I wonder because the size chart says totally different. I refused to keep an eye on either the Roper Shirt or the R Shirt, because given the measurements in size M the chest is only 110 cm.

I am 175 cm, 78 kg, very athletic build with a 102-104 cm chest and 82-84 cm waist. I have last season’s Work Shirts in blue chambray and white denim and really like the fit and style. The arms and chest give me lots of movement and comfort, but not so much I would size down. The waist ofcourse is very loose, but this is the intended fit of the shirt.

Can some more people compare the fit of the different shirts from Rubato?

Also can someone here compare there trousers to Casatlantic trousers?

I’m 184 tall and weight about 87kg. Chest is 106 and waist 86. And yes, I was talking about the work shirt

What size did you try in both shirts? Looks like we are build kinda similar except you are much taller and a little bigger overall than me.

Does the Roper Shirt feel restrictive to you?

I wear the Roper shirt in medium and it fits great in my opinion. Chest and shoulders could be a bit looser but thats not an issue. Compared to the roper, the work shirt shirt has more room on the back side than on the front side and it felt more restrictive on the shoulders and chest. There is a picture of me wearing the Roper on the pahe ten or eleven if I remember correct.

I'm 189 cm and 86 kg now, chest is also 106 and waist is 90 cm.

I have uniform shirt in size L - fits very nice in general - could bit a bit slimmer in waist though;
Also wear R shirts in size L - fits pretty great.

But I decided to sized down in work shirts - had both L & M and decided to go with M in the end - while size L feels a lot more relaxed and the length is better - it's way too wide - no way I can wear it tucked, and untucked it works only as a very oversize shirt style, almost like a jacket.

So I went with M - so for that in sizing, me being exact same size in chest as henrip, it does feel a bit restricting in the shoulders and chest comparing to the other shirts in L - but just a bit, and also not all of them, for some reason - e.g. the cream & black linen blend one feel actually very free and not restrictive. The navy & cream one I got also feels great and not restrictive. But the navy satin one I got feels a bit more restrictive due to the completely non stretchy fabric or the sizing is a bit different for some reason. I feel the main part is the fabric (heavier) and sometimes slight 1cm variations in the cut - as both linen black&cream and cotton navy&creat fit quite great out of the box, but I also stretched them out about 1 additional CM in length myself. (just using pulling the fabric and using hot iron to set it - other options may include a bit of conditioner when washing and stretching when left to dry) But won't work much on satin fabric - it's pretty heavy and won't stretch at all.

I don't have Roper shirt yet - and wonder what size I should go with for that one - body seems right to be size M, but length wise if I want to rear shirt untucked, those extra 2 cm length really speak to me. 77cm length I feel is too short for me.

If you consider the Roper I’d recommend Large for you. I have short arms and the sleeves in M are perfect for me. My guess is that M is too short for you.

I forgot to mention that the work shirt I tried was Medium as well. Your point about the fabric is important. Mine was the linen blend in cream&black combo.

Thanks, I think L would be better for me too, wonder if any of roper shirts will be included in the sale. The L ones have sleeves just right - M would be too short. Had to stretch sleeves a bit on work shirts in size M to fit better. Satin one just accepted as being a bit shorter, as it didn't stretch much.

I have the same linen blend in cream & black and that fabric was easy to stretch 1cm in any direction. Though with slight variations in size, you might have been the unlucky one that got a more tight fitting version too. As I mentioned - having a couple of work shirts in size M, some of them felt more relaxed in the chest right away without any stretching, some didn't.
