In the past, I have been quite taken with PRPS jeans because of the quality of the denim and the amazing distressing. I have never been able to get the jeans to fit the way David Beckham's PRPS fit ... and the current season's PRPS offerings look more like something skateboarders or EMO kids would wear.
Because PRPS has changed everything I liked about them (even the quality of the denim it would seem) I have switched to RRL jeans. I have heard that RRL are Ralph Lauren's own favorite line and that he has not really seen much profit within this line ... however he keeps it going because it is his pet project.
Having said that, it is obvious the jeans are of a quality almost no other jeans I have felt have. I bought a pair in just about every wash and style I could find. I am currently selling 4 pairs of RRL on EBay. One pair in 36 X 34 Buffalo Rider Slim Fit ... One pair in 38 X 34 Low Rise Boot ... One pair in 36 X 32 Slim Fit ... One pair 30 X 34 in Low Rise. All are a dark wash and the first two are very distressed with great tiger striping, fade and the rust type of stains. The other two are more straight up Indigo with minimal distressing. All are marked as being Japanese woven Selvedge denim made in the USA.
If anyone is interested in seeing the jeans for auction, let me know and I can give an auction number. Does anyone else know if Ralph Lauren RRL products will continue to be made? I have heard that they may stop making it because it costs so much to make vs. how well it sells. I have become a RRL-a-holic and bought a RRL suit that fits like something from the 1920s or 1930s off EBay in addition to having bought just about every pair of jeans RRL made in either the RRL store in East Hampton, NY or a Ralph Lauren Factory Store.
