Its not even a bootcut, its more like a straightleg or a taper.

It's true. I think the difference in the opening is about an inch or so from the slim fit. Hardly noticeable but it'll make a great second project for me.

I'm still waiting on my RRL bootcut from ebay. Hopefully I'll like the fit but if not it was only 50 bucks.

The slim lowrise pair I posted pics of doesn't have the ultra-low rise I'd been hearing people say, at least not for my tastes. It'd call it about a comfortable medium or low medium. Although my collection to date has been more focused on lowrise like my diesel's or joe's, I'm growing to like this fit. I, too, am waiting on my RRL bootcut and I'm rather curious about the fit as well. The 28x32 slim pair was measured to have a slightly bigger waist than the 28x32 bootcut. Odd.

You bet. You'll have to give me another two weeks, though. I had them mailed up to the states thinking if I did so, it'd be faster than having them sent internationally since I'll be back by then. Turned out it only took about a week to get the slim cut's from the states so I overestimated. Nonetheless, I'll post the day I get them.

It's official. Got the 28x32 bootcuts and...

they fit SLIMMER than the slim fit. There's hardly any rise, they're not hairy like the slims, and they're ball crushers so far. 28 measured at a firm 32. This thing should stretch out though, but I'm feeling a tad Bowie-ish right now.

    Pics...

[IMG] [IMG] They look like the fit fine in the pics, but notice there's no room for imagination on the thighs/butt. I have to admit I still like the feel of the denim and I'm sure the fit will grow on me over time. FYI, that's a small American Apparel. See how it fits? These won't see the light of day until Feb when my other RRL's get their 1st wash.

yeah, i got 36 x 32's. slim bootcuts, i think. way too big - i haven't measured them, but the actual waist is probably a 38 or 39, inseam is probably a 32, give or take an inch. i'll measure them tonight

    here's what i got:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWN%3AIT&rd=1

do these things shrink dramatically? i'm basically swimming in these jeans.

i'll probably need something in a 34 length. if not much, i need to switch to a 34 waist.... probably still need a 34 length. 34x34 sounds like where i need to be unless i've completely miscalculated the shrinkage.

I have two pairs of the one-wash RRLs, the boot cuts with a 27" waist and the straight legs with a 26" waist. I usually take a 30" or 31" waist but both fit me pretty well. I've been wearing them for months and they show hardly any wear at all.

Best of all, I believe I got both of them for less than $50 total! This was months ago when they were flooding eBay. Great jeans, though, especially for a price that low!

Been wearing my RRL slims for 3 weeks and I already have wallet/thigh fading.

I'm not totally sure because the tags are different from the ones I've received, but my guess would be they are slim fits. I don't think they're bootcut judging from looking at the rise (Bootcuts are much shorter) and because of the "Classic 5 Pocket" description.

I bought a pair and they should arrive this week. How much stretching do these jeans do? Also, is there much shrinking after washing? They are sanforized so I suspect not.

I think if you look over this thread you'll see that it's really mixed when it comes to the amount of stretching. My slimfit's have stretched out perhaps a half inch or so making the jeans that much more comfortable. I'm sure it also has to do with the waist being restricted from wearing a belt. As far as shrinking, it'll be pretty minimal due to being sanforized.

Whodini, how much did the waist stretch? Nice jeans BTW.

They were originally a loose 32 (or marked 28) around the waist but tight as hell everywhere else. I measured them tonight at a notch above 34. I'm a size 32 and while normally I'd be swimming in a 34, the general fit is still tight/stiff enough where they look fine and feel comfortable. I always wear a belt with them but even if I didn't it's not like they'd fall off my hips; they'd just sit comfortably on them.

It'd be great if they shrunk down to a 31 or so when I wash them in another couple months so that they'd stretch back to a 32-33.

alright, I am search in a pair of 27 x 32 rrls but I cannot find a single pair on ebay...they're all weird sizes (36 X 30, 34 X 29)...does anyone have any suggestions where I can pick up a pair?

    Yeah...you can wait.

Ebay comes in waves, my friend. There is no other "new" RRL stock to speak of, not unless the company store(s) are still open. I know polo.com lists a RRL store in SF and a handful of places but having not been to any, I'm not sure if they're separate entities or part of a larger RL collection.

Regardless, there are tons of pairs on ebay at the moment but as you stated they're in funky, clown-forward sizes. I'd wait things out as sellers' inventory comes and goes. I remember coming across RRL about a year ago and opting against the jeans since I knew nothing about them and they were selling at around $60. Then just a few months ago, one seller couldn't get rid of them fast enough @ $9.99 starting (and several went unclaimed). Another tip would be that if you're looking for a 27x32 (or a 31x32 as I'd guess), write a seller who has a 31x32 before you bid. The newer pairs, especially the pre-distressed ones, appear to run true-to-size.

So wait it out...and be thankful you're not a 28x32 like me. I'm looking to snatch my next below-$50 pair and store it for next year.
