I just bought a pair of Army M51 Field Cargo Pants on eBay. When you buy online, whose to say they are real (besides the seller)? The pants had just shipped, but I got to thinking about this (recently discovered a pair of TOMS shoes I bought online are definitely fakes), so I contacted the seller of the RRL pants to politely ask if they might be kind enough to provide a picture of the tag (they are selling multiple identical pants in different sizes) as there were no tag photos in the listing. My thinking being if they readily provide the photos I'm probably okay. But they came back and said, not to worry, that there are no RRL fakes on eBay. That the line is too small for fakers to worry about. That the fakers go for bigger lines like Diesel, whom the seller said they had previously worked for. The seller has a stellar record so I'm sure my new field pants are most probably just fine - but wanted to throw this question out there: Are there any RRL fakes on eBay? Because if the answer is yes, then the seller's argument will worry me.
