Them be fightin' words.

Room and Board is overpriced the way that high-end mens clothing is overpriced (at retail). The furniture at R+B is generally "better" than C&B. Whether it justifies the cost is an individual decision. You'll find better values at R+B than say, DWR, though some of their inventory overlaps.

Sho -

I just got a new place and bought a bunch of stuff at R&B (still waiting for delivery). I think it's a good price point and the furniture looks well made. At least with the furniture I purchased, I thought the styling was inspired. I also got a couple of things at Crate and Barrel. I spent a lot of time visiting various furniture stores and checking things out on line. For the price, I'm not sure where you can get similar quality and styling. My guess is you can't. I wasn't impressed with anything else I saw at other stores or online. Actually, I was, but they cost at least twice as much.

But apparently to JA, I just wasted my money.

You didn't - we have some R&B pieces that are several years old, have been moved twice and still look and feel great. Solid stuff

you know it took me awhile to graduate from college. ten years can you believe that ? just to get my BA in biology. screwed around, made bad decisions in regards to work and taking time off, issues with family, personal issues/certain addictions, didnt have my head screwed on straight. all the better for it now, now that i learned.

Another prop to R&B. Very well built at good prices, from Shaker to modern. Teddie, you've made a very good choice, there's always a dissenter or two

Room and Board has proven to be an outstanding value for us. We bought a loveseat, 3 chairs and a settee about 8 years ago when we had just moved and had little cash.

They still look new. Materials and workmanship have been top notch.

I'd rather have Stickley but for now our old R&B is proving to be well worth it.

I purchased a king size Monica Bed as well as two Arnez chairs from Room and Board about a year ago. The customer service was amazing and the pieces are high quality. About a month after purchasing the items, I noticed they went on sale (just after New Years). I called the store and they credited my account for the difference. I would definitely buy from them again.

I searched through the entire store in Chicago for something worth sitting on. It was incredibly depressing.
