#1 - Control the flow of alcohol she drinks.

We were having some fondue (fundue) and one too many glasses of red wine later she passed out in my bed. Damn I was pissed.

List other rookie mistakes to help ensure that they never ever happen to any of us.

Drinking too much yourself and getting the dreaded "Whiskey Dick of Horror!"...that is embarrassing.

Taking a girl to dinner on a first date, kinda awkward. Drinks (remember kids, moderation is the word) at a quiet charming place works out much better.

Or passing out and waking up thinking, "If I didn't drink so much, I could have gotten laid."

Completely agree. I like a live show first, because overzealous crowd touching is usually inevitable. Sticking around (or letting her stick around) for too long in the morning. I got **** to do.

If the pressure in your bowels indicates an impending explosive evacuation, be sure to flip up your shirt-tail. Also, make sure adequate TP is on hand....

1. Whiskey dick

2. Getting so drunk that you completely forget her name and call her different names (all wrong) throughout the night.

3. Not winning over her friends first

4. Giving her too much attention at the start.

5. Paying for her

The first time I met my current girlfriend was randomly at a bar. I was sloppy drunk due to a few too many doubles with no dinner...the only reason I knew her name afterward was because she took my phone and entered her number and name. I didn't remember exactly what she looked like through my alcohol induced haze but I did know she was better looking than pretty much everyone else there....

It was kind of embarrassing when she came up to me in the subway (pure coincidence) while I was on my way to our first date and I didn't know it was her....

Thankfully she is really hot and I'm glad she entered her name and number in my phone because I would have fucked it up...

Not really a "rookie" mistake...but could have been!

Eh, maybe it's just the way I was brought up but on first dates and such I always pay for everything unless she insists otherwise. Really can't say that I ever had an experience where it hurt me.

I agree. Not paying is a dick move. It may have been novel several years ago, but it's more than hackneyed now. There is nothing redeeming in it. Pay. Just don't pay too much. Avoid Chez Whatever on the first date.

I don't pay usually. I think it's respectful to let a professional pay their own way and not expect some kind of special treatment because she's a woman.

Anyway, drinks is the best. Avoid any kind of show because conversation is impossible.

Even worse...screwing her early in the evening, after having just met her, and doing this. It sucked.

For her.
