I don't find this collection as interesting as the previous one ... hum. Most of the pieces I liked seem to be rehashes.

I feel like it's more of a culmination of the last few seasons, could have easily felt really directionless and schizophrenic though.

I really liked the show. He did reuse some ideas, like the mesh and hats and dip-dye sweatshirt, but I think those things have all worked for him in the past and they're becoming signatures of his. It felt consistent to me, like the same guy from spring now dressing for fall. (Here's what he said:
"Last season, Robert Geller used hats as an accessory and it carried on into his Fall 2012 collection. According to Geller, there is a simple reason for repeating this detail: men repeat details with their wardrobes." http://www.pier59studiosblog.com/) Also, if you look at the fit of the sweaters and pants it felt like a continuation of spring, where he was toying with the silhouette. I think that makes sense. You don't start bringing in new ideas in one collection and just abandon them in the next; you keep refining them. I do think the styling went a bit overboard at times. Sometimes a clean look is enough, and you don't need a jacket over another jacket.

I really liked the trousers in the collection. I don't think he showed a single pair of jeans, but I didn't miss them. I'm sure they'll be back at some point, but I was happy to see the tailored wool pants and baggy lounge pants used more. And the blazers were all dope. I want the blazer from the first look so bad, and one of those heavy wool sweaters with short sleeves. Those are so good for layering. The fabrics in general looked really good. Lots of beefy wool and tweed and waxed cotton. :nodding:

From the show pamphlet

"While listening to the early 80's post punk band The Sound in his office, Robert was thinking of what made English style so great. It led him to make a collection that is his updated take on this very classic style, just right for a moody rainy day. Perhaps in the streets of London or Manchester.

The exploration of the silhouette is a continuation from the Spring/Summer 2012 collection. Robert is pushing and pulling his patterns, playing with the idea of volume, balance and fit vs. anti fit.

Robert Geller's Signature mix of sportswear and sharp tailoring is once again present in his A/W collection. The color palette sets the mood with a base of earth tones highlighted by burnt orange and dusty marigold.

To complement the A/W 12 collection, in addition to continuing his ongoing footwear collaboration with Common Projects, Robert Geller has also created jewelry with with Alyssa Norton, and announced a collaboration with New York-based Etiquette Clothiers for a line of socks launching in July 2012. PS was just given a S/S jacket, cream with pink knit ribbing, epaulets and a hanger hook in the back, with silk inserts on the sleeves and in places on the body. Anyone know it? I can get pictures up later. Just looked through the shows and didn't see it. Its a sample.

Bows, when you said there were boots I was hoping for riding boots/musketeers. When I went back stage there were frowns to be had. Still the browns with the shiny black toe were all nice. Was contemplating buying the pair at H&M but they were $60-70.
