Did he get the fit right on these? That’s one thing slowing me down from ordering (though I’m hard to fit).
Yes. I did the measurements myself and used a pair of Viberg's I had relasted as a test run. One of my brothers lives in LA and I had always intended to go in person but schedule didn't play out as expected. Infinitely better than anything I've tried outside of bespoke.

How flexible is Brian with his builds? I've been wanting to do something that could sort of make sense as a modified engineer boot. Would he be interested in the challenge or does he like to stick to his traditional builds?

He's very open to new ideas and trying new things. Can't say he'll for sure be willing to do whatever you are planning but he's very flexible and tries to accommodate

You've got me curious – what do you have in mind?

I was thinking about something with an unstructured shaft in a softer leather with some different buckle placement, the idea being for it to go over the pant like a riding boot, but cinch at one or two spots for a snugger fit. Maybe have the straps snake around the leg.

Dunno why it's in my head but now that it is there's only one way to exorcise it.

something like this?

Interesting. Maybe? I was thinking a really soft leather up top, deer or something maybe, this looks a little thicker. Kinda the same lack of structure but maybe a tad taller, like mid-calf. And then if it gets taller a strap at the top to close it, the usual bottom to tighten to the foot, and maybe one more buckle mid, or just strap that snakes around from bottom to top.

Thanks for the idea, looks interesting. Do you have any boots by them?

i don’t. But I’ve met Brian, and if you send him your ideas (and inspiration photos), I think he’ll do his best to accommodate.
