Rodney Bingenheimer get his Star

Not sure how many of you know him (unless you were dialed into the LA Rock scene) but the "Mayor of the Sunset Strip" finally got his star yesterday. He was very instrumental in breaking many new bands (as a DJ) back in the early 80s playing up-and-coming bands, including The Runaways, Blondie, The Ramones, Van Halen, Duran Duran, Oasis, The Donnas, No Doubt, Coldplay, Dramarama and others. Since then he still has a radio show on KROQ from 12a-3a on Sunday nights where he plays what he wants and not what the station requires. He has an amazing memory and many fascinating stories of the musicians he's met and spent time with as well as the music scene from the time period.

Anyways, i shot the dedication and the concert in his honor last night and just wanted to share the photos with whomever cared.

rodney, as far as i can remember, always had that late-night sunday slot where he just plays whatever he wants and half of it is either hardcore punk or modern music that sounds like it's from the '50s. i like him but i never got into his show.
