How would you rate these ties?

Anyone have any experience with these?

Do they use English or Italian silk in their ties?

What make would these be compared to?

Nicky? Kiton? Borrelli? Stefano Ricci? Canali?

The ones I've seen were gorgeous. They were based on vintage designs, and the colors were particularly vibrant. I have never purchased or worn one, but the store I saw them in sold them alongside Nicky and Holliday & Brown.

Very good ties. Hard to find brand, at least in the US. I think being so unknown hurts them. They do a lot of private label work. One sign of a Roda tie is a bright red bar tack, which they seem to use no matter what the color or fabric of the shell.

Nice ties and nice pocket squares as well. They can be a little out there, but when they are good, they are quite good.

Agree with previous posts. I have a few of the ties and squares and they are quite nice. Ties tend to come in narrower lengths, which many find a plus.

I'd forgotten about their pocket squares. Norcal sold some a few months ago, and I snagged a cotton one with blue medallions. I wear it all the time.

I think mine came from Norcal as well - very nice. I read a little blurb recently about Luca Roda and his business (I think it's a very small operation), but cannot for the life of me remember what publication it was. Ties are (were?) available @ Barneys...

Ah, Thanks Manton.

I will be getting a few of 'em for Christmas.

I will post pictures.

Dustin Hoffman gave these to Obama as a present.

They have different lines - made out of silk acquired either in Italy or the UK (and different flags on the back respectively).

The UK ones seem to be slimmer.

But all very nice.

They are rare ties but very nicely made.
