Yeah, I understand how that works.. I’m not that much of a novice.

No need to take offence, I didn't certainly want to imply that, I simply tried to explain my thought, as you said that the rust colour would clash with the rest.

I know that it's not orthodox, and the conventional way is to match the colour of the socks with that of the trousers, but I think that you can also consider the socks almost as a stand-alone garment to combine by contrast: what matters is that the colour combines well with trousers and shoes, a sort of a bridge.

I really like this combination from @Terrence O'Connor, for example.

Oh, no offense taken. I often match socks to tie, or cardigan, etc., or at least have them work well with those pieces. The rust socks just wouldn’t have worked with the rest of my outfit that day, that’s all. I wasn’t changing my outfit because my socks weren’t 100%, and turned out to be more off in the picture than in real life. What I should have done differently though is not knowingly post a sub-par picture.

I like as the light blue pops between the subdued tones of shoes and trousers, but the pink flamingo is not my taste, as any animal patterns.
Yeah thats understandable. I don't have any solid spring/socks I have come to realize. Just these summer casual style ones.

Choices, choices.. wearing my Galea Bespoke Deustos with a new navy pair of Amidé Hadelin knee high socks, and a sample pair of fresco trousers.
