1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

No sock-rocking today - for once I had to wear black ones. Actually, I had to buy black ones, that's how rarely I wear them. Also, the new dress shoes I'd ordered to go with my new dinner suit, didn't turn up on time. Cue improvisation moment: beaten old black cap toe oxfords given some polish, improvised satin ribbon laces made at the last minute. Sorry for the dark BB shot...probably as good as it needs to be!

I like the chiaroscuro lighting and the GG stitches. I learned that word in a college art class.

Thx cleav nice rmw boots I've been intrigued by that brand but wary of sizing

Eastland made in Maine Wicasset. Even among all of my high end shoes my first love will always be Maine handsewns

I love my RMW, but mine are a lot more "flat" with regards to color. How did you manage to acquire such a depth in the leather, Cleav?

    Many thanks

TBH they don't get a walk v often. I think they're 12 years of age and therefore nearly new.

I'm a regular uk 7.5, as these are, but I don't feel confident I could wear em all day. Today we talk the dogs a walk, pit stop for refreshments and home for lunch; I was desperate to get them off, the girls could have done it all again!

Another reason is I don't seem able to get a real shine. That said I have a loose Sunday morning shoe shine rota so I guess over the years they have had some work, spit and polish without the travails of regular wear.

Your comments have made me consider all this, thanks.
