After today they're gone. I'm going to destroy them in the buildingsite sludge. I indeed went for the colour scheme. Glad you like it!
New brown suede shoes are on their way next month! I don't want to spoil the surprise, but it involves words like Cambridge, TG73 and Mole Suede [IMG]

I need to get more comfortable with Suede shoes. I'm still struggling to spend a large amount of money on them as I'm not sure how they'd be perceived in my office or in my business travels. The grey Carminas from Skoat really look great IMO.

Just a couple more weeks before I'm part of the G&G family!
When you order, how does it normally take to get them?

My struggle with suede lies in the areas of durability and maintenance. I know I can keep my calfskin shoes looking like new for 10 years, but I don't have nearly that level of confidence with suede.

    +1 on the suede stitch!
Thanks, I was going to order from G&G's own webstore unless you have any better suggestions?

Roger, if it is properly maintained and cared for, fine (good quality) suede will last you just as long.

well, i was SUPER happy using nick @ bespoke england, but i dont see a reason not to order from GG direct, im sure their service is good, the question is just price and availability, imo.

Thanks guys - I accept the concept on an intellecutal level, I just haven't yet had mustered the personal confidence that I would manage the whole maintenance thing as well as others clearly have. And as it happens, all the suede shoes I really like happen to be facking expensive, which provides a further disincentive to taking the plunge. I did kind of fall in love with a pair of BB Peal double-monks in a mid-brown suede while shopping at lunch today, so who knows. Would that be a good entry point for suede that would be considered of "good quality" or do I need to go higher?

Apoligies for the brief thread drift. I'll post some socks tomorrow to make up for it.
