Awesome loafers, love the socks as well, good combo.
You really can't go wrong with matching the tone to the trousers. i.e. charcoal trousers, gray or charcoal socks. Navy trousers, navy socks. They'll never perfectly match up to the trousers anyway, and the socks often have some type of pin dot or funny weave that will make sure it's not shoot-yourself boredom level. When you have the choice, you want the socks to be a shad lighter rather than a shade darker than the trousers. You don't need to think about the shoes because they'll already be coordinated with the trousers.
good examples of matching sock colour to trousers:
Simple, easy and it looks great.
One exception is when you're wearing white trousers. In those instances I find cream or light gray to be the best sock option. Similarly, if you're wearing red or burgundy or purple etc trousers, it's easiest just to stick to charcoal or navy socks.
Thank you guys. I will post a pic of the ones that I'm wearing right now. And well... I hope I did it right. =D

My answer to Uncle Macs argyles!
This is good advice - particularly for beginners. Just bear in mind - no solid dress socks - EVAR. Particularly if you are wearing navy socks with navy trousers. It just looks like you tried to match and missed. Patterns don't need to be loud - pindots, herringbone, and birdseye patterns are almost always successful.
The only formula that I would like to add........Blue + Brown = Win It seems to be almost foolproof.
hendrix - good advise. im honored you used a post of mine as an example.
i just want to add, that after that step is mastered, its fun to start branching out with colors. easier to fail, surely, but can be fun and rewarding when done right.
*bows to the G&Gs* I am definitely getting a pair of those for the new year, such a beautiful shoe.
Thanks! I think this is a procesess in which you need to learn, and sometimes is try and error. Here's my try...
Is this Uncle Mac's version of a mirror shine?
