I dont hate Aldens infact the one I have I do love. They have that ruggedness and that rustic look and I'll not hesitate for a moment to wear them with Casuals or jeans.
Mine comment was for fit and fit only. I don't own any cordos, but wish to in near future. I do however see that they do wrinkle and fold which I cannot comprehend. Dies this mean that a well fitting cordo will not have these folds?I want to know. I'm not taking of creases though which is inevitable.
I hope your Carmina's by next Friday will be all juiced up, cheers
Nephew, enjoy wearing
picking up the slack i see, lulz.
Shell is known for 'rolling', not creasing, it is one of it's primary characteristics. Well fitted, or poorly fitted, they will roll.
No hate bro, no war, just some dudes shootin' the shit about some shoes.
Thank you...that is very interesting to know. So pushing up the forfoot a bit higher will create a more even tension distribution on the leather and thus potentially the creasing would diminish?
This seems logical.
I know we don't agree on matters of taste. But I highly value your knowledge of construction and fit. Thank you for your reply!
G - this is silliness. I see those Angels break dancing again. However those Alden Whiskey long wings are only useful as door stoppers.
Alden's latest - direct from Pitti.
Ich schätze tief Ihre Rücksicht.

Agreed about the silliness of the sole edge on the C&Js. No problemo for me.
Those Aldens from Pitti look a little bit too lightly scaled!
^ Hilarious and awesome.
I think you overthink fit of RTW shoes greatly. Most, if not all of yours is bespoke. It is comparing apples to oranges. Plus, I don't think just getting a different size is going to change creases that much in RTW at all. I have shoes that are looser, some tighter, they all pretty much crease in the same spots. To me it is like buying a suit off the rack and complaining that to collar doesn't sit on your neck. Of course it doesn't it wasn't made for you, doesn't mean it is not wearable. I feel that if a shoe doesn't hurt you, or make you walk funny no harm no foul.
