I really, really like these. Theres an understated elegance and complexity about them. Im so used to seeing a medallion but this model but it's refreshing to see a change. Have you considered applying a darker shade of tan/brown to the toe?

    Thanks Namor,

I have indeed thought about giving them a darkening. There's a pair of tan G&G's in the G&G thread that were hand polished at the Armoury that I'm thinking I'll attemptto match. I'm just a little skiddish of messing with them just yet. As they are one of the few shoes I own that don't have a burnished toe of some sort. C& J also offer this model in a slightly darker 'chestnut' color which I'm definitely going to buy when I'm next in London. This model good well be the 'Gdot OneShoe' if I owned it enough colors as it really floats my boat - even though it's just a benchgrade shoe.

Congratulations on your entire week of calf! Must have been a bit weird. Have you apologized to your Uncle Mac yet? I here he's been spending a good bit of time moping about behind locked doors this week. :D

    Hai Jhcam8!

I understand your hesitation. I dont like getting too carried away with the burnishing however the G&G you're referring too looks outstanding. If you can replicate it, then by all means!

This shoe is built on the 348 last? I have the handgrade equivalent in cavalry brown on the 358 last. Cant really tell the difference between the two lasts. Speaking of calfskin, 3 calfskin shoes, boots are scheduled to arrive within the next 3 days including the C&J Northcote in black :D

I think I can do it, but we'll see. I may wait until next fall to go all out. I'm thinking I should probably just darken them a smidge and wear them light this summer first.

Yes it's the 348 last. I held a 358 model next to a 348 model in the store and there is very little difference to me. The 358 is just a tiny bit more enlongated.

So that makes 4 new pairs in calf this week including the G&G's. I admire your glutonous good taste!

That makes sense. 358 is long in person. Just for the record, I sold 3 pairs of shoes in the past week so i havent been all bad

Mr. Burns wears purple socks; Smithers, in typical dweeb fashion, wears white socks.

The clothing in The Simpsons is usually spot on, as another member noted previously.

Is that the 348 last? Can you say how it fits relative to others? Color and last are fantastic to me.

imo, the last looks a bit strange w/o medaillon. also neutral wax can cause damage.

as long as the fit is good, that's all that matters
