No clue but my guess is to "humanize" him more than usual? I think the all black suit is just a preliminary armor or something, they better add some colors to the final armor.

That gun is quite large for a hand gun. I think it works just fine. The all black suit looks like something out of GI Joe (the movies...).

The OG gun is narrower but possibly slightly longer it seems.
It doesn't help that the girl in the background of the new pic is wearing black behind the gun, making it harder to pick up the outline and scale of the gun.

I was actually just watching the first one this past weekend and the gun definitely look much bigger in action than in the film.
All I know it that the OG gun looked badass, the new one looks underwhelming from those pics.
