I was fitted for my first pair of Roberto Ugolini bespoke blue suede tassel loafers at Roberto’s first trunk show in New York City.

Roberto Ugolini is a bespoke shoemaker with over 20 years of experience in making bespoke shoes. His workshop is based in Florence at Piazza Santo Spirito.
Roberto travels the world fitting clients across 3 continents, mostly in Europe and Asia and now in the US.

I really enjoyed my fitting experience and I can’t wait to see the final results. It took a solid hour to measure my shoes and pick the specifications for my ordered pair of blue suede tassel loafers. My pair will be made from the same blue suede that the pair in the attached photo was made from.
We spent some time talking about construction details and the leather choice in terms of color and specifications. I look forforward to seeing and breaking in the final result.

I am planning to try on the fitting shoes at his Pizza Santo Spirito workshop in Florence when I will be attending Pitti Uomo in mid June.

Here are some photos from the fitting.

I understand that his pricing is pretty competitive. Would you mind sharing approx. prices for your bespoke shoes?

I guess I'll revive an older thread here.

In June I met Roberto at Rockefeller Center, J Mueser's shop.

I commissioned a pair of bespoke shoes that I just received for Christmas and thought I'd share some photo's.

Black cordovan derbies, norwegian welt:

NorwegIan welt makes the shoe. Bravo. Do you know who supplies the cordovan?

I don't remember where he gets the cordovan from but I do remember him saying it was hard for Europeans to get their hands on. I can ask him.

It was an extra cost for Cordovan. I believe another 500 euros on top if you look at the receipt I attached.

Cordovan (almost?) always has an up charge. Horween has the best quality that I have seen. Argentine cordovan (as used by Casa Fagliano) is pretty darn good. The Japanese version is a bit shiny for my taste. Is there Italian cordovan?

I asked Roberto and attached his response:
