In my humble opinion as an RMW man, I have to say the construction is first rate, I just sold a pair that I had worn for 15 years that still had the original soles and heels.But be warned, I'm turning in to the Imelda Marcos of RMW boots, based on comfort, styling and quality, bear in mind I have the choice of top English makes and still go for RMW, so if you get a pair you may find yourself buying more pairs than you really need! At this time I am not aware of a cure for this weakness/addiction, bookster1uk

Well I am a bit bias myself so I will keep it brief.
RMW is a wholecut Chelsea boot. You don't even find that on John Lobb or Edward Green RTW boots. Admittedly JM Weston makes a whole cut Chelsea priced at around $1000 USD.
Next please ignore the recommended full retail price as a measure of quality. The Australian dollar is much weaker against the US dollar than the Pound or Euro. A cappucino here costs me $2.50 AUD (about $1.90 USD) but the same thing in England can cost around $2 Pounds (about $3.75 USD). Same goes for anything you pay Pounds sterling for. So the price difference can be accounted for by things other than quality.

At the work coffee shop I just got mine for about that much, OK maybe $2.70 take away. Sure, at a nice place in Darlinghurst you'd pay more but imagine how much more a cuppucino at a nice coffee shop in London costs (think 5 Pounds+). And do you think it tastes better than the one in Darlinghurt? No!
