Couple of shoe maker questions -

1) I came across a black slip-on shoe with broguing and elasticated sides with a handwritten 7/7.5 E808 marked on the inside in an oval window - looks like Edward Green's labelling and from glancing at a Green catalogue it looks somewhat similar to their Kibworth model.

Nicely made shoes. Irritatingly, though I'm a UK 7E and it fit wonderfully through the toes and sides, the heel kept slipping. Inserts might sort it out I guess but I hate relying on them... in any case, what would you say would be a good price for these?

And how much "reshaping" of the heel might I expect with time, if it is Green? If the fit is good elsewhere, is it likely the heel will adjust itself to fit?

PS. I had a good look at some RLPL Made in Italy shoes - really shoddy finishing and stiff, nasty looking leather. A third of the price of the English ones but still...

2) Zegna Limited Edition - who makes these? Santoni? Surely not Ferragamo because they're above Tramezza level I'd say (and above Zegna's Couture shoes) - lovely waists, slick soles with wooden pegs, and with some nice antiquing on green olive leather. Expensive, mind you, even at discount, but if they can find my size (they've got new stock coming soon), I'll probably take the plunge.
