Does it hold up to the same kind of standards as the PL suits and shoes?

Does anyone know the likely manufacturer(s) to be?

If you are referring to the RLPL cashmere sweaters (and not suits), I can report that they pill fairly quickly, but they are many, many times softer than the RL Polo cashmere sweaters. Softer than the RL Black Label too.

My experience exactly-- learn the art of the sweater shaver if youre going to go with purple label cashmere.

It depends on the sweater, I have a RLPL shawl collar sweater that wears like iron but some thinner ones that are made to layer and that pill easily.

I was refering to sweaters.

So I guess the sweaters don't hold up to the rest of the line... I would have expected Loro Piana and Cucinelli Quality... It's unfortunate...

I agree that they're of varying quality. I have some that have absolutely no pilling and others that were pilled almost immediately. All very soft though.

Anyone knows who manufactures them? Perhaps it's the Banana, as they also have that pilling problem...

I have found that pilling is a problem with even the most vaunted names in cashmere. I've experienced pilling in cashmere sweaters from Loro Piana, Cuccinelli, RLPL, J. Crew (who reportedly was using LP cashmere). My most durable cashmere sweaters from a pilling perspective are the Polo cable knits. YMMV.

I think Loro Piana provides the cashmere for the RLPL cash sweaters if I remember correctly (based on what my local RL manager said).
