I read the woodbuy thread, some stated the cashmere blazers ran larger and some said regular rlpl sizing. Could someone comment on the fit? Im not sure if i should get a 38 or 40. I had a cotton savile row RLPL blazer once and the 40 was a good fit - this should be the same right? Very suppressed waist and overall slim fit

I too am between a 38 and a 40 and got the 40. It's a perfect fit. The fit is moderately slim, with nice waist suppression.

There is a bit of variation in actual sizing among Purple Label jackets from different seasons and years, even if all from same maker (St. Andrews)

The cashmere blazer in question, the ones sold at the Woodbury Commons outlet, was a little fuller in the chest (about 1") and a bit longer in length (also about 1"). I have another 100% blue cashmere blazer with metal buttons from prior season and it was extremely trim in the chest and waist with a very high armhole.

The metal buttons, by the way, on the blazers from the Woodbury outlet looks and feels very cheap.

As for you, I'd probably go size 40 because you can always take it in, which is easier than letting a garment out.
