Sorry to revive an old thread, but is this number correct? I though it was closer to retail?

It's about 20% more than full retail, but depends on fabric and such. Also, there are no sales on it and sometimes they charge a cutting fee. Crazy imo.

20% more than retail puts it at about $2000 plus tax. Seems a little steep, I wonder if a cheaper MTM option could easily mimic the style?

Retail on many of the suits is around $2000. When I bought my RLBL (originally $1995), the same suit in the same fabric MTM was about $2400, but they would've waived the cutting fee. That was twice what my OTR RLBL cost.

I suppose you'd pay less in alterations, but it still isn't justifable. I don't know if you can make minor chages like adding a ticket pocket or the like though.

The last time I was on the web-site retail on a wool BL suit was $1600, I could easily be wrong. when you got the MTM was there any option for a 3-piece?

Actually, you're right, the price now on the website is $1600 for the suit I have (the charcoal gaberdine notch lapel). I don't recall an option for a 3 piece, but I stopped asking questions when I found out the price.

It's a fee for cutting the fabric pieces based on the MTM patterns I believe.

Isn't that why they charge the 20% premium? I would fight like hell if anyone tried to assess this fee on me.
