RLBL and canvassing

So I picked up this suit a few days ago as sort of a fashion-forward version of a basic, and as far as I can tell, it feels canvassed. AFAIK RLBL is made in Italy by Corneliani, but is at least partially fused. What's the deal with these? BTW it was NWT and this seller is very good, prompt and communicative. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...6278&rd=1&rd=1

perhaps it's only half-canvassed? i.e: lapels are canvassed, but not the chest. Most industry-made high-end lines in italy are half-canvassed.

Definitely fused, but the fusing is pretty good. Only the high-end Blue Labels (the ones that run around $2295 retail) are fully canvassed. Those suits have a different label.

I thought those labels indicated they were made by Cantarelli, not Corneliani.

I can't remember if the suits GDL posted are made by Cantarelli or Corneliani, but I can definitely attest to the quality and higher price point. I believe Ralph Lauren has a different designation for this line, like Polo Ralph Lauren Tailor Made or some such. Anyways, the sales associate at the Mansion told me that they were planning on eliminating the higher end Blue Label jackets and sticking with just Black and Purple Label for their upper tier garments.

Good deal. I'd get a Purple Label suit if I could find one discounted to $400 or something.

Yeah, I actually really like this suit for a couple reasons. First of all, it's a pretty good fit out of the box. I like the relatively short jacket with long sleeves, which means I don't have to have it altered, and the silhouette looks quite different than a traditional RL suit, especially since it is cut very slim. RL has done some interesting things with their BL line lately in terms of more fashion-forward cuts...

I bought 2 or 3 on eBay around these prices (2 of them made in England). You should monitor eBay and/or set up searches.
