Hi Gentlemen,

Like many fellow members here, I love RL! I was wondering when would be the best time to shop during the Xmas/After Xmas sale for the best discounts. I am mainly looking to buy RLBL suits and dress shirts. Please discuss and thank you for your input.

I don't get it. Can someone please help me understand what the attraction is to RL? I get the high end lines, Purple Label, etc. The quality at the high end is there, but come on, it is incredibly overpriced.

The standard RL lines, I just don't get. For example, their Polo shirts are overpriced for what you get. Their dress shirts are no better, in fact maybe worse than others, but they certainly cost more. You can get much better quality for less money. In fact, I am not aware of anything that RL makes that can't be had for less money for the same or better quality.

Is it the fit that is so attractive? If so, can't the same fit with equal quality materials be found for less money?

I think that RL has done a marvelous job at brand development and marketing and we fall for it and pay their exorbitant prices? The horsey is a valuable brand, no question.

I would love to hear what others have to say. Am I wrong?

I hear you. I don't know what it is. I think the the cheaper lines are definitely ****.

On the other hand, the aesthetics of and merchandising at the PL store around my hood is so well done that it makes me want to spend all my money there.

I am a big proponent of RLBL and RLPL but refuse to pay retail as they are obviously not worth that much even with an exorbitatnt amount of 'value' tacked on. Now that we got the critiques off our chest, when would be the best time to shop during Xmas? =D

I am looking to buy RLBL suits (550-700) and RLBL dress shirts (<100) and maybe some RLPL shirts if the fits are ideal.

It's their shoes and tailored clothing. Corneliani and C&J make quality product.
