Don't listen to them, if you like it, enjoy it! It's still 75% off of retail.

Oh, I'll listen, not because I'm sorry about my purchase, but because I want to know for next time.

Measurement of 38R (this is taken directly from the Ebay auction that I purchased from, so NOT my measurement, although I gotta say it's pretty accurate)

Shoulder 18"
Chest: 41"
Waist 38"
Length (from bottom of collar): 30"
Sleeve: 24" with 2" to let out.

so 40R should be true to size,I don't think it will fit like 42R,somebody said that it feels bigger in the other thread.

I've not know Purple Label to fit larger than stated size, if anything, they are smaller.

Last one... Got it. Now where to get decent buttons to replace those hideous brass things? They have tan left in 42 and 44 at this time.

That was me. I based my purchase on the last one where the shoulder of the 40 measured 19" which I find more in line with a 42.

If it's too small for me, some lucky bastard will score.

Of course, if you are anywhere close to NYC I hear that Tender Buttons is the place to go.

Unfortunately, their only 36R was a black cotton blazer. I would've been all over it if it was wool, though

edit: Snagged a blue BL dress shirt in 14.5, what the hell

Thanks for the heads up. Unfortunately the 100% cashmere blazers in my size were gone by the time I called but I did get a 98% wool / 2% cashmere RLPL blazer for $300 as well. Original retail was $3295 apparently. Also, no gold buttons according to the SA. Sweet!

For comparison here are the measurements of the RLBL 38:

Chest: 39.5
Shoulders: 18
Waist: 35

So while RLPL fits tighter than most OTR, it is still bigger in the chest and especially the waist than RLBL. This sucks for us smaller 38s because, from what I was told, RLPL isn't available (at least at Woodbury) in size 36.

I'm going to go buy some french fries.
