I was thinking of using "˜Scotty doesn't know' instead of the standard "˜ring' that I've been using on my phone. Would it be too trite? What ring tones do you have on your phone?

Jon.

P.S. I will not purchase the ring tone; I will upload it via Motorola Phone Tools.

I don't know what "Scotty doesn't know" is, but here's my current ringtone:

It never fails to crack up me and anyone nearby when it goes off. I also have the main title theme to Dune, a couple of songs by Air, a couple from Fight Club, and a few by Kraftwerk that I cut myself.

Depending on the setting of the ringer, could be:
Curtis Mayfield, "Move On Up"
Otis Redding, "Respect"
Hendrix, "Red House" (a bit of editing to grab the section where he mutters "that's alright, I've still got my guitar" before the solo, which always makes me smile)
The O'Jays, "Love Train"
Pink Floyd, "Wish You Were Here"
Grateful Dead, "Turn on Your Lovelight"
Aerosmith, "Walk This Way"

Mine sounds like a phone ringing. A loud and obnoxious phone.

Tunes are gauche. I like the standard ring on my phone. It is more of a pulsing tone than a shrill ring.

Phone ring. I don't particularly like musical ring tones.

La Marseillaise; or Sony Ericsson's 'Old Phone': makes me feel like I'm in a Cadbury's Flake advert.

One phone ago, I had that Sony Ericsson "Old Phone". I loved it. Very bell-like and old-fashioned sounding.
