Ring Jacket

I am pretty standard US 42 (Eur 52) with 36 inch waist (sometimes closer to 37) and svelt 185 dad bod. Non-Amroury Ring Jacket Suits and Sportcoats fit me fine in size 54. they are slim, but nothing sizing up one won’t fix.

Thanks for this! Yeah - the problem for me with this - and with most Japanese clothing - is that they fit small for their tagged size. That means I would have to look for at least a 58EU/48US...and unfortunately those sizes have proven to be extremely rare from Japanese brands.

In truth I am usually drawn to Italian designs/styles (specifically Napoli) more anyways, and they are almost always much easier to find in my size.

How wide is your chest/stomach, out of curiosity? I'm bigger than you by about 15 pounds, but find Ring's (Japanese leaning) jackets to work pretty well for me in a 56. 54 is slimmer than I'd feel comfortable going. I wouldn't write off Armoury models though, particularly the model 3. Those are what I'd consider TTS.

My actual chest is a 44". So on a jacket I need a 46" or 47"
For shirts I wear 16.5 but need around a 50" chest which is what the H&K
contemporary cut has. I used to wear 42 R in mostly US made trad suits
but when I did I ran 20 30 miles/week. I had to stop running just over 20 years ago
and I put on weight . I am now back to my running weight, 160 lbs. but alas am still
a 44R. I am over 70. Age makes a difference!

It's actually a gift that one is born with, like the ability to parallel park.

For the rest of you it's a trial and error struggle and the willingness
to keep trying and eventually one will develop competence. I am not sure
that an instructional video would help.

after Delta and before Omicron. As a "senior" I abstain from
attending indoor events/performances.
