Is this suit the US fit or the Japanese fit? What does it mean to be 253 "A"?

I would ask for measurements but 253 is the general model number although I’m not sure if there is any significance to the A. I think it’s safe to assume the US site will not carry the strictly Japanese models, save for the 184.

The letter after model number is for pocket style. A is for flap pockets. You might see F on the jacket model e.g. 254F which means patch pockets.

Think I could wear this one to an interview? It's a very tight houndswooth in blue and grey

Good snag, I have a sample DB suit from them in a similar fabric without the blue in it and it basically reads as mid grey until you get up really close to it.

It would be fine for an interview.

That's generally how I see it, mid grey until close quarters. Jacket is a tad long to my liking but it's how I fit in suits :/ I usually have to remind myself it's called a suit jacket for a reason.

As long as it fits well, it’s a great. For sure interview appropriate.

I was looking for something versatile for formal interviews where its normal gray or blue. Happy to know I can get away with this.

Some great deals on suits and sport coats at Supply & Advise. Snagged a Tan VBC and Spence Bryson Tobacco Linen suit for 700-800 each. Plenty of sizes and styles left

So guys, I got the suit, first day tried it on, looked great. Decided to try it on again. Now I'm having doubts it's the right size (50R US for Nordstrom) I'm a 39R so I figured it'd fit perfect as the japanese linering jacket suits you need to size up to 52R for 40R US.

It doesn't all feel tight in my shoulders, after pulling the jacket down the fabric on my neck laid properly. I never owned a full canvas jacket so I presume the fabric needs to get used to me, plus it's a trim fit?

The front looks fine, shoulders, length, and waist look right. I'd take the sleeves up an inch. Hard to tell about the back without a good shot where you aren't twisting to get a decent shot. I'm also a 39 and take a 50 in Ring Jacket. I think it's just a matter of how full you like it, but this looks like it works.
