Anyone know how RJ's overcoats fit? Wondering if they're on the slimmer side and should size up.

Best to ask for the key measurements and compare, but I am either a 38 or 40 depending on the brand and with RJ, I would do a 40 for both a sport coat and an overcoat. Usually, I find the 38 would be wearable but definitely slim, whereas 40 would be a classic fit (not loose, but classic).

As what I’ve seen for most of their coats they can be on the more generous depending on the model.

Of course the material matters as well but I think you would be ok with your normal size, especially if it is an American cut.

The Japanese models are a little more finicky.

What models are you talking about?
I’m about the same size and I wear a 40 for model 254 jacket, too. And for classic fit overcoats I wear 38 over just shirt and knits and it fits perfectly.

It's a polo coat I got from Andrea Seoul in Korea, which may be the same one sold on the RJ website.

I found I needed to size down. I have overcoats in both 38 and 40. 38 fits well with no sportcoat under. 40 works with a 42 sportcoat under.

I'm in between 40 and 42 for most sport coats.

That had been a mystery for me as well, think only ring jacket would be able to tell...

^^^Agreed, as far as the Ring pieces I have, that number generally doesn’t say anything about the model number of the jacket unfortunately.

This is for what I know, still it doesn't answer your exact question of the model number.

AM = Ring Jacket USA ? (maybe client code: RT = Ring Jacket, RE for The Armoury, AM = Ring Jacket USA, ...)
02 = suit (Type: Suit = 02, Jacket = 05, Pants = 07)
8 = 2018 (Year: 0 = 2020, 9 = 2019, 8 = 2018, ...)
S = spring & summer (Season: S = spring summer, F = fall winter)
05 = item id ? (seems irrelevant to model number but incremental,)
B = grey (Color: A = light grey, B = grey, F = brown, G = beige, X = navy)

Awesome info but that looks like an auto increments, so you need their database to tell (like vehicle vin number...)

Does anyone have any thoughts on the fit of the TAJ-02 model relative to the Armoury model 3? Or measurements?
