I enjoy the Riedel Vivant I got at Target. Half the price of the Vinum stuff and made in Germany still.

I use Bormioli Rocco around the home for tumblers, shot glasses, etc. -- they're like $8 Canadian for a pack of 4 or 6, which is fantastic for Made in Italy glassware.

A while back I found a Riedel brandy snifter at a thrift shop that is sooooooooo huge, I bet I could fit one of Candy Sample's boobs in it.

Our crystal is Schott-Zweisel. As I tell anybody who will listen, eschew the white wine glasses and go for water goblets for red and red wine for white.

I've seen Spiegelau at more nice restaurants than any other brand, I guess that must count for something. I have a very basic set of Riedel Wine series cab glasses which is all I have and use at home.

As has been said, these are nice and reasonably priced. I've yet to have one break. And, yes, the bowls on the standard white and red are a bit small in volume.

Thanks all. I've settles on the Vinum extreme Riesling as my multi purpose glass (it is 16+ oz so can work for red or white) and I like the shape. I also got a few Som Bordeaux for random ostentatiousness. Got a few others as well. Thanks for the comments.

Have a few of the Vinum, the chablis and PN glasses. I think they break spontaneously. I mean, they could be sitting on the table with half a glass of wine in them and TINKLE goes the glass.

I've been a long time proponent here of C&B or World Market for daily drinking glasses.
