How many Style Forum members think that the "slim fit suit" looks ridiculous.

Jacket is to short, pants are too tight, and worn way to low .

The button point of the jacket is much to high.

There is nothing stylish about this monstrosity which has been foisted upon
Individuals who have absolutely no sense of classic men's style.

Men wearing this abomination are like an extremely fat woman wearing a
    short skintight dress.

    Looks absolutely horrible.

Feel sorry for you poor individuals who have absolutely no clue how to dress.

I think you will find you are not alone here with respect to this point of view.

Before listening to someone's opinion of what is bad, I find it universally useful to know what their opinion of good is.

Just for giggles, I slipped one of the "slim fit" suit jackets on in a department store today. The jacket was silly short. Like Angus Young school boy uniform short.

Reminds me of FNB. They rarely post what's considered "good."

That would be considerably more difficult and open oneself up to criticism. Much easier to pick on low hanging fruit.

All I have to say is the OP must be really obese. Sorry, but I fit in the 'slim' cateogry, but not because its in fashion right, but because my body is slender and lean.

    reminds of of a story:

Waiting in line to get my pizza a man dressed up and im wearing casual he casually leans over and saids, 'you better get two pizzas because being slim is going out of style so you better put some weight on'

wow really...found out later from the cute cashier chick that the man eats a medium pizza daily from there so she knows him. He is 5'3'' looked to be about 240lbs or so.

^Well, I have a robust, fairly muscular physique and am far from obese, and I am in total agreement with OP. Those damn things look ridiculous, even on the whippet-thin male models displaying them. The jackets always look like fugitives from the Boys' Department!

so skinny people or lean people should size up becuase you said so and you have over 4k post on a internet forum while those slim models are making money posing?

I see where this is going hahahaha....sorry man if I dont dress to your liking because I have a lean body and you dont.

Personally I don't give a damn what you wear but you're missing the point the OP is making.

He isn't talking about slim/small people wearing suits that fit. He's talking about suits that are by his definition too small. Too short in length. Often too tight in chest etc.

Now if you're slim or fat that doesn't mean anything.

Slim guy in a jacket that might be too short depending on your idea of too short.

Might look odd on some, particularly those that probably shouldn't be wearing slim fit in the first place or are tall.

For me, I'm rather short (5'8") so the "slim fit" style actually looks proper since short jackets mean I can sometimes get away with R length. For example, black fleece suits are perfect length/rise for me.

Also, for those in shape, the slim fit contour can work well. I swim/run almost daily (lean, muscular physique, 10" drop) and the drop works wonders for me b/c normal suits look like tents.

hahaha...no your missing the point its talking about slim period. Like I told the OP no one is making him wear slim clothing. Slim is for folks who are are leaner than normal folks out there. Being too short or too tight is subjective.

he is the typical poster who gets mad at folks who are the so called 'slim' clothing becuase he is mad he cant fit in them.

You are defending a person who is trying to fit into slim fit clothes when he cant.

One should just wear clothes that fit them not based on a SIZE!!! Thats why I like to get MTM or bespoke when folks tell me what size I have on I tell them 'my size' since I cant tell them L, M, S, slim, roomy, etc....

He mentioned shortness of the jacket, high buttoning point, low rise and skinny pants (which normally won't drape well even on a lean person). He seems to be talking about fashion forward suits, rather than slim fit suits, which are a different thing. And yes I think current fashion forward suits are a monstrosity and rarely look good on anyone...
