Sometimes the soft ribbed collar on a polo shirt looks very girlish, like a lace collar on one of those old photos of kids in antique family portraits. The collar has no body; you can't stand it it up or do something to make it look more edgy.

I am interested in removing the collar and replacing it with something else.

1. where would I find collar patterns to make?
2. What kind of collars would you suggest?

Thanks

I would suggest taking your time and energy and investing it in buying a new polo shirt. The amount of time and effort saved can be better put to use chasing down some chicks.

This guy -- along with 100,000 other Abercrombie-loving style rejects -- begs to differ:

If I pop 4 Kiton (well, actually, maybe 3 + 1 replaced with an Udeshi) collars at once would I have any chance at all of winning the "Do the Spoo Challenge"????

Depends on how many pocket squares you will have.

Damn, there's always a catch! :(

I wonder what the inner circle next level uber-cool secret popped pocket square number is.... I'm pretty certain it isn't 4, as that would too symmetrical and not sprezztastic enough.

My polo shirts have a collar made like a woven shirt, not with floppy ribbed fabric.

At $65, it would probably be easier for you to just buy a new one than trying to fix an existing shirt.

I can attest to that as well. After 5+ washes, the collar still lies magnificently.

Stop living in denial. You bought the shirt in the first place because you liked it, so maybe it's time to wear it and release your lesbian godess from within. That's what I do! Welcome to Styleforum.

depends on how badly it is ribbed but I would never wear something that was damaged visably in any way so I have to say yes.
