My $30 shirts from ModernTailor are better than my $100 shirts from MyTailor.

Why do you say that. I have lukewarm feelings about mytailor shirts, but i can be measured in person. Does moderntailor do that, if so i might try them out? Faster turn around. My friend tried out moderntailor and i saw the shirt, nothing impressive. Maybe poor fabric choice.

Why? What about the fit and style and workmanship was different?

It was the fabric on my MyT shirt that I don't like, which I chose after the tailor upsold me from a slightly less expensive fabric. Also, he measured the neck wrong and it's a bit tight. If they were both the same price, I would say they're basically the same product, but they're not the same price.

Once you get measured by the tailor, or if you have any shirts that fit you perfectly, you can just use that as measurement and use that to buy from moderntailor and save yourself a lot of money.

From my experience, Moderntaior customer service, workmanship, delivery time and price are simply top notch. If you get your hand on one of the swatch book, before you order your shirt, you will get to feel the fabric before you buy the shirts.

well, as 99% of your posts are about how amazing Modern Tailor are, you are either obsessed with them or you work for them. You and about 10 others keeping the same boring posts on the front-page of threads. Give it a rest

Since I have at least more than 1 post that doesn't talk about moderntailor and I've posted less than 100 post here, I can assure you not 99% of my posts are about how amazing modern tailor are. I am also not paid by Modern Tailor for anything I do here. I do, however, love them and an fascinated with their business concept. I was hoping to exchange and to learn from other people about their experience dealing with modern tailor on this forum since this is also where I learn about them in the first place, and this seems the only place on internet where people even discuss about them. If I violate any style forum etiquette, I will tone down my opinion in future post.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but have others been in touch with MT recently? I placed an order 5 weeks ago and now the site is down. I'm sure this is just weird timing but.... :uhoh:

The site loads for me. I've been waiting over 2 months for my shirt to ship.

It's generally 2 to 3 months- you can check online to see estimated dispatch date; my last batch shipped two days before the estimated date (and should be here tomorrow) so I would say they are pretty accurate. Joe has been very accommodating on everything I have asked him for so I no longer regret leaving my previous shirtmaker, Ascot Chang.

That gives me an idea for a blog post...

Odd...after you said the site is loading for you I was able to load it on my phone but still not here at work on any of 3 browsers (not blocked- just won't load). I was told about 4 weeks, but no big deal I'll just be patient.

I use mytailor after buying high end off the rack and other local custom tailors. My view on mytailor is that if you know exactly what you want, and work with joe, you can get great clothes for a relatively low price. Do not start with a big order. Start small, perfect the fits and be extremely specific on style details. These guys can do a good job but have, in my opinion, a less than optimal style sense. Go that route and it'll work out.

Could you elaborate? What details did you specify, above and beyond all the options on the site? The only thing that worried me was the lack of space to enter sleeve/armhole measurements. Joe seems great, but I didn't like the traveling guy I dealt with so much. Still waiting to see the final product.

I just got two shirts from them yesterday and have been quite happy with them so far. Their site doesn't seem to be working right now, in that none of the fabric images appear. I find it surprising that a partially online business allows its site to be down so frequently. Is it just me? Can others see the pictures?
