Reunion shenanigans: did we get played?

At the time, I bought in and believed. In hindsight, I'm starting to wonder, and think that we were played (rather brilliantly) for suckers. But you be the judge:

On fb, an old friend popped up on my radar months back - he's a chef now with a cool gig: works on a train. Always been a foodie since the school days, so I believe, thus far.

So the reunion talk starts up for my class, and said friend pips up with talk of auditioning for a TV show on a certain network. Things are looking quite good for him, and he posts updates on this status on his fb page.

We meet for the reunion: he turns up and gets the rock star treatment (both nights), everyone who knows him buys him a drink.

Monday post-reunion, he posts on fb that he didn't get the gig.

Now, said friend - it's not a stretch to think that he could be on TV: he's outgoing, gregarious, and easy-to-like. And he can cook, no question. So I bought in. But the timing of his updates, really made me start to wonder.

So - you be the judge: did we get played?

Also...if you have any reunion shenanigans you're seen or committed, poast them here.

Suckers!! And to think the whole house of cards almost collapesed had I not brow beaten Margaret Pinsky (used to be Allens) into submission when she quiped "Isnt Emeril Live already hosted by a guy named Emeril?".

Thanks for the drinks!
