I am headed up to Beverly Hills this weekend for an afternoon. Does anyone have a recommendation for a place to eat lunch?

The Grill on the Alley

(around the corner behind Louis Vuitton across from Zegna...you'll see the little valet sign)

Or Chaya Brassiere just off Robertson in the Kitson/Ivy/Lisa Klein/Armani Casa area.

I don't know if Cafe Blanc is still on Santa Monica, but if so they do a great lunch. Spago is great, of course, if you plan ahead and get a reservation. Cafe Piccolo on Beverly, if they're open for lunch, has very good Italian food at decent prices.
But if you don't mind venturing maybe 3/4 of a mile outside the Beverly Hills city limits, La Cachette on Santa Monica Blvd (more Century City-ish than BH strictly speaking) is really terrific.

I am not sure if it is in BH city limits, but is is called Arnie Morton's. Back when I lived in BH the Grill was better. I think that both are a heavy lunch, and I personally would prefer something like the Farm, but I am not much of a lunch guy.

Can you be more specific on what you're looking for? Budget?

The Morton's is on La Cienega across from the Stinking Rose/Matsuhisa and next to Gaylord of India. While that is sort of the cusp of the city limits I am sure it has been gerrymandered into Los Angeles.

+1. love this place. right across the street from the Ivy, another hugely popular restaurant but I prefer Chaya's food

The Newsroom on Robertson is good for a cheaper meal (directly across from the Ivy near Kitson men)

The Ivy followed by shopping at Maxfield Bleu up the street for the true BH experience.

The Newsroom is awesome for breakfast. I spent every weekend morning there when I was in L.A. on business in 2002. Not sure how good the lunch menu is.

The Farm is a good suggestion, too.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone! I have been spending some time Googling all of these and they all look great, so I appreciate the referrals.

I'm looking for something with a good atmosphere (outside seating?) that is not too heavy and not overly expensive. Something with good salads, grilled meats, etc. would ge ideal. It doesn't have to be in BH necessarily since I will be driving around anyway but that would make things easier. I'm sure any of these suggested would work great, but if you think there is anything else I should take a look at, I would love to hear about it.

Thanks again for the input.
