Okay this might not be the best example of what Im actually trying to get but its something, couldn't find the pic in the WAYWRN thread

The pic is courtesy of the Armoury's website

The way his tie pops out: is that just done wth a military tie tuck and pulling it out (I did try that but the tie doesnt stay put slides back down
plain.gif
) or is there something else going on like a tie clip

My inspiration was actually an SFers WAYWRN pic (went thru pages and pages of it but cant find it) : if someone could link the pic if they know what im talking about:

It was this guy with glasses sitting on an dark brown armchair, at a shoe store (think he was getting measured for a new pair) and he had his tie (which was black and white) popped similarly with a white sleeve less jumper on and side parted gelled black hair.

Think the pic was posted at least in the last month or so.

A tie clasp is the best way to ensure the tie stays that way...in uniform we were required to have a tie clasp on, jacket buttoned all the way up, and belt sinched. The tie would be slightly pull up and neatly arranged to give a similar look to your provided photograph.

Awesome thanks a lot guys:

Is there any historical significance of the tuck in the Armed forces?

or is it just practicality?

I think you can achieve this without either tie clip or military tuck. The waistcoat functions similarly to the tie clip at holding the tie down.

Of course, tie clip wouldn't hurt.
