For those of you who own special skin / reptile belts, question about their construction. Are they "pieced together" or are they one continuous piece of croc/gator skin?

Thanks!

Unless you are damn rich they are pieced. If you want one continous piece be prepared to spend some very large dollars.

The two I have from Brooks Brothers are pieced together, although it's hard to find the seam. The one I have from Nordstroms is a single continuous piece, and is an overall much better belt. All three are good belts that I've had for several years and wear often.

I have a couple of snakeskin belts that were gifts (a little flashy for my taste). The reptile skin is a sort of inlay laminated to horsehide, and both the tongue and the part that holds the buckle are horsehide. However, the snakeskin is one-piece. A great many species of snake are long enough to encircle my waist. With other reptiles, piecing together may be necessary. I shouldn't think it would be necessary with crocodile or alligator hide though, given the size of these animals.

It is a Martin Dingman handmade alligator belt in cognac purchased at Nordstrom. I don't remember the cost, it was several years ago.

I read on a site talking about croco leather that there were no one piece belt.
