Not a good comparison.

Beyond that, it's strange how entrenched a perception can be. Is Ryan's coaching style very unconventional? Surely he has successfully managed players and assistants for years and has organizational skills. Furthermore, while oddly long, his hair is carefully managed; it's not Hippy hair.

Pretty sure black person or an extremely ugly person would be even worse for 'business', but it's not something you should make public making these type of decisions. Obviously length of hair if it's well managed shouldn't be a factor either, so they score double on this one. One making a dumb decision, two making it public.

Why not both

A double negative can be a positive.

Besides, the guy looks like a football coach.

Well, you have to expect a certain level of self-immolating stubborn stupidity from the spawn of Buddy Ryan. Of course he's going to sacrifice his career advancement and millions of dollars in earnings over something as trivial as 15 minutes in a barber's chair.

It's about other people telling him how to do his stuff, which is none of their buisness.
They want him to bow down. He doesn't have a knife on his throat so why would he. **** them.

Lol what? They own the football league. It is 100% their business. Let him go work in arena football.

There is the bonus, mindless assumption that Rob Ryan wouldn't cut his hair to moderately long if hired as a head coach. Should he really cut his trademark hair while not-so-publicly interviewing?

As someone with blonde flowing locks, which have become a trademark of sorts, I can understand why he doesn't want to cut his hair. It isn't like the situations with the Yankees where they are ready to tender a contact, as long as the player is ready to cut their hair/beard/ moustache. The reports are more akin to a bunch of girls gossiping about each other as to why xyz continue to happen.

I think his brother does more to hurt his chances as a head coach than his hair.

I couldn't possibly care about his hair. Frankly, he's a fat ************* and should probably lose 50 pounds before appearing in public.

Well look at Timberwolves. It's different league but still, white folks would rather watch white people play because they can id more with them. I think the management there constructed this like that on pupose(mainly white). As you might suspect like 90% ppl in Minnesota are white, tam suckd but ratings were good. I don't think it's racism, it's tribalism. I root for Spurs/Wolves because FIBA players who play there(ok also because they have superb skill parker/manu/duncan). Ugly people; well I don't have to explain that it's TV.
