Has anyone tried Buscemi (the leather sneaker company) customer service?

I have a buddy who got curt e-mail answers from them even though he owns three pairs. It's a weird story. He bought a Buscemi collaboration with Mastermind Japan a couple of years ago. The shoes came with the trademark Buscemi padlocks on them, but with Mastermind (not Buscemi) branding. It was probably a Chinese New Year reunion prank or something similar, but someone swapped the locks on his shoes with normal Buscemi padlocks. He never noticed until recently but none of his relatives and friends owned up to it. So he e-mailed Buscemi asking if there is a way to get replacements. He was told they cannot help him because they are out of those special locks and Mastermind cannot help him either because they never made the shoes.

Is there any help for this guy? I cannot think of anything.

If your buddy is that intent on having those locks, he should buy a pair second hand and swap them out. He could then resell the pair he bought for whatever the reduced value with the different locks is and consider it the price he has to pay. Alternatively, he could find another pair in his size and sell his for whatever the market value is. Outside of those two things, I'm not sure how else he'd get those specifically branded locks.

I don't understand, buy a pair of the specifically branded locks?
buy a second hand pair of Buscemi x Mastermind shoes and swap out the locks with normal ones. Then resell that pair.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
