Removing buttons on DB jacket/symmetry?

All, quick gut check needed. I own a few 6x2 DB jackets in 40R, but I’ve gained a fair bit of weight. Have you ever seen a jacket like this with the middle row, left button (3rd) removed?

Visual:

3 4

Context: Since I gained weight and the jackets with side seams maxed out can’t be let out anymore, I asked my tailor to move the fourth button (middle row, right side (4th); first button you use) closer to the button hole so it’d be less snug.

Fit-wise, it’s great. However, moving the 4th button inward to loosen threw off the balance of the 3rd and 4th buttons. In other words, the 4th is so close to the 3rd that it looks odd and since it’s so close, moving the 3rd button toward it isn’t an option and away throws off the symmetrical balance of the other buttons.

If I removed the 3rd button, might that help? I could also remove all non-used buttons to correct, but I’ve never seen that ever before.

Obviously I could buy a new jacket, but with everything else kosher except a tight waist, moving/removing a few buttons seems more economical.

Would love your sage advice.

Attached. The one of my jacket shows how the tailor shifted the buttons over. The others are examples of removing the buttons. Thoughts?
