Remote Temperature Alarm

Does anybody have a recommendation for a remote temperature alarm for a second home?

I did some research and most seem simple enough as you basically plug one into your phone system and it alerts you to a low temp condition by calling a pre-programmed number.

Before I pull the trigger on one I was hoping that someone here might have some experience with them.

Thanks

A lot of people around here use them when they go south for the winter. Usually has the thing call a local relative or something.

I know one saved a guy's house from freezing up. Wish I knew the brand name for you.

off the shelf, I dont think theres anything like that on the market. I've been asked before to build something very similar (for detecting flooding), and as far as dialer equipment, theres plenty of DIY projects out there to use as a building block.

Thanks,

My research showed a couple of items on Amzaon. I was just hoping that someone had experience with one before I made a purchase.
