Hi all!

I’m look for relaxed fitting, slightly blousier shirts, in lightweight fabrics. Something more classic in design and pattern, like solid or striped cloths.

IME most of the relaxed fitting RTW shirts in summery cloths are made either in bold patterns (like Madras) or in a specific design like Camp or Cabana. Or 100% linen which I’m not a fan of.

As a reference, I love the fit and design of Stoffa’s shirts and they have some wonderful lightweight fabrics, but the price is a bit too much for me. I’d like to keep it under say $350. Kamakura and Ascot Chang have some shirts in a “classic” fit but I’ve never tried them to confirm. Most Italian makers seem to have a slimmer fit.

Again for reference, I have a 98cm chest and 84cm waist and my best fitting shirts (usually size 50EU) are about 57cm half-chest with a mostly straight fit on the body.

Any tips are much appreciated!

Mercer & Sons. Brooks Brothers Madison fit.
I'm a 40" chest and 33 waist - similar to you but slightly larger chest - I can wear a Medium BB Regent but the Medium BB Madison is really drape-y (in a good way). So maybe try the Medium Regent and see if that gives you some blousiness

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
