Regarding Nordstrom Return Policies

    I bought a pair of black PA's from Nordstrom in summer. Since then I've worn them several times, but they are rather uncomfortable and the middle crease hurts my toe. I wonder if their hurting my feet would allow me to return or exchange them for a different shoe.

    Any experience?

    They have the most liberal return policy in retail. You could take a dump in the shoe and return it because it smells and they wouldn't think twice about it.

    This is why I enjoy shopping them, but I won't abuse the policy.

    I bought a pair of dress shoes from Nordstrom and wore them 2-3 times over the course of a year and a half. They started falling apart so I took them back and no questions asked I was able to return them and get a different pair.

    Definitely take them back if you're unhappy with them.

    try on a few sizes, get measured, and find someone who looks like they know more. where it creases is where it bends, and should be where your foot also bends as you walk, so the leather shouldn't be bending into your foot.

    Well, I never had this problem before. However, they were out of my size in the store, so they ordered me a pair online. I usually take a 9 in AE, so that's what I did with these. The PA last seems narrower than the Weybridges (that fit me fine) and there lies the problem. I'm sure I'd have chosen a wider or longer shoe if I were trying them on in the store. Thanks for the replies. I'll probably try to exchange for another last. Is the Strand on a different last from PA?

    Nordstrom is great with returns. My girlfriend returned a new jacket that she never wore that was purchased over a year and a half ago. They gave her a full refund with no questions. Hope that helps. Goodluck!

    They probably have a racket with some local charities.

    What's with this mindless use of the word "reasonable", anyway? That word is for people who buy their clothes at Walmart, watch their clothes soon fade/shrink/stretch, and then go buy replacement clothes at a "reasonable" price.

    Seems reasonable to me.

    I don't think it's mindless at all. I think it's unreasonable to have an return policy so open that you can return something even after you have worn it for over a year. Especially if (like he "says") the policy is responsible for raising the markup for the price of an item. That word "reasonable" is for people who like to apply logic when making decisions, quite unlike the people you described.

    They have a refurbishment center as well as a last chance store. But yes they also send them to the rack. Have you seen some of the shoes at the rack, they look like they could be at Value Village. Anyway, I worked there for 6 years and as long as you have the box, receipt or a credit/debit card (that you purchased them on) it will not be a problem. If you don't have any of those things, they may fuss but they have to return it.

    I have never heard of anyone having a problem with returning an item at Nordstrom. They're policy is the most liberal of any retail establishment I've ever seen.

If that was the case, then anybody can just bring in anything off the street and demand a refund.     That's exactly what I experienced the other day.

    I returned a topcoat and all they had to do was scan the barcode which seemed to have given the salesperson the transaction number and thus, the credit account with which I paid and was to be credited.

    I rather didn't like it because I took great care to be sure I had my receipt with me and I wasn't rewarded for me effort. [​IMG] No, "oh, good, you brought your receipt with you!" response. [​IMG]
