This I think is a good example of a client having more of his own direction in terms of what he wanted, but I still felt I was in my "comfort zone". This client wanted a more 1920s look, he was a former Flusser customer and he was a fan of Anderson and Shepherd, so stylistically he had in mind a rather different garment than what I normally produce. The client also stressed comfort in the suit so it is made rather roomy in the shoulders, half back and waist. Still I managed to put some shape in the garment and actually give the coat a waist. At this fitting the client still asked me about letting out the waist and I advised him not to. The coat is longer, the trousers are full cut and the lapels are probably a bit wider than I would normally do. I like it though, looks like a 1920s suit through a David Reeves filter. The cloth is also great.
