i am debating between getting Clarks desert boots (beeswax) or to get the Red Wing boots.

anyone prefer one or the other (besides price)? I will be wearing these with apc new standards a lot.

how is sizing on redwings? if i wear a size 10 in vans slipons do i go to a 9 in red wing boots?

if i get red wings, is there a certain way to take care of them? do i need to use mink oil and waterproof sprays etc?

also is there a difference between these jcrew x redwings and the red wing classic lifestyle boots? i noticed the normal red wings look higher topped and the soles are different but in terms of quality and construction is there a difference?

thanks

These are two different boots. Personally, I prefer both for different fits. The Red Wings and chunky and rugged looking boots, the desert boots have a slim profile. If you are going to be wearing the boots with the APC new standards then the desert boots are a no brainer because they are slim and work well with the small hem of the jeans. If you wear the Red Wings with APCs they are going to look like clown shoes.

In regards to sizing....I have two pairs of red wings 875s and GTs. In both pairs I am an 8.5 which is the same as my dress shoes.

If you are going to waterproof the RWs use sno seal.

I am pretty sure that the only difference between regular RWs and RW for Jcrew is that RWs for Jcrew are over priced.
