Oooh thank you for posting that pic. These are really beautiful. They look a bit wider than IRs in the toe area. Fall 2012 gives me time to save up for the browns.

Look like they're aping the brogued Wolverine 1000 milers. I'm not a huge fan of either. Although the 721LTDs look pretty spiffy...

isn't the idea of buying $250 boots (that ARE designed for working in after all) from a small-ish company located in an even smaller town in east central minnesota about supporting small scale, well made (and american-made to boot) companies and products? Why then would you ORDER them online (ebay? Amazon? really?) to get the "best deal"? Why not get them from your local red wing dealer? What's important here?

    Kind of presumptious.

Amazon is an American company, and Americans get paid to pack and ship the boots. Why is the employee/owner of a red wing dealer any more important as far as feeding his family goes? And who is to say that a small American dealer isn't using Amazon as a means to sell boots?

Better look around your house and make sure all of your purchases got this same consideration.

Order them from wherever, Red Wing has obviously got the $$ for making the boots and then selling them to a second party.

I would love to purchase from my local red wing dealer. That way I could try them on and spot any defects and request a different pair if necessary and walk out with exactly what I want rather than play the buy 2 pairs in different sizes and send back the one that doesn't fit well game, etc. However, I've yet to find a local Red Wing Store that carries the full line of boots I'm interested in. Hell, the one in Culver City (nice folks in it, though) don't carry the full GT colorway run, and forget about the new "Alden Indy" clones, and I very much doubt they'll carry the brogued IR above. Sure, they can "order" it and get it within 3-4 weeks, but at that point, I could just order from Amazon, Zappos, wherever and already have them, at usually a less price, delivered to my desk at work.

So on the question of sizing, any one around a mens size 7D even a 6.5 ( which is an utter pain to find BTW) in larger shoes have any experience with these puppies? I'm a tinny guy 5'.4" on a good day, 118lbs and a small foot to boot (pun intended). How do these compare to clarks or the Wolv. 1000 boot? Any info greatly appreciated, have been lurking this thread for a while and noticed none of the really smaller sizes mentioned.

I have a pair of the 1907 6" moc toe boots from RW in a size 7 with a little room in the front although I don't mind that so much, can expect a similar result with the IR or is it a truly drastic difference?

The IR tends to run true to size. I have a pair of GT mod toe and it is about 1/2 size if not a whole size bigger than comfortable for me.

Just got mine today. I am a true size 9, but had to go down 1.5 sizes to 7.5.
